At the center of the enchanting rolling hills, resided a young shepherd. His existence was essentially unadulterated, and unsophisticated. His primary duty was to care for his herd of ewes.
Their soft bleating and the murmuring of the wind among the solo tree on the mountaintop were his main companions. Day after day, guarding his charges imbued in him a feeling of quiet fulfillment.

One morning he dashed into the village yelling “Wolf! A wolf is attacking my sheep!” The scared villagers sprinted up the hills to help but discovered no wolf.
The boy giggled at the puzzle on their faces. This game persisted for a few days more. However, one day, a real wolf did attack the herd. The shepherd boy ran for help, shouting “Wolf, Wolf!” But this time, no one responded.
Frustrated and alone, the boy battled against the wolf but managed to rescue only few of his sheep. Heartbroken, he returned to the village only to be met with a scolding on honesty and the consequences of dishonesty.
His tale of this shepherd boy has been passed down generations as a mediaeval parable to teaching the value of honesty, the implications of dishonesty and the dangers of crying wolf. Moreover, it stresses how trust once broken, is tough to earn back. It's a story as appropriate today as it was then.
